So, we had our first formal meal tonight, which basically involves wearing our gowns, saying the school Grace in Latin, slightly better food than normal and vaguely competent wait-staff. Added bonus, 3rd Floor of Alex (me) and Radical Bay got to go to the President's house for Sherry before dinner, an honoured King's tradition. An excellent opportunity to shmooze with all and sundry and get alcohol out of the bargain. I really didn't like the sweet Sherry, but somebody said that those who weren't familiar with Sherry should try the sweet stuff first. I knew I should have gone with my instincts and had the dry to start with.

Anyway I had an amazing Harry Potter moment when we all trailed into Prince Hall, everyone in Black gowns, and sat at the tables. There were candles and of course the normal wood panelling of our fine dining establishment. It just seemed very Harry Potter. I'm not the only one who mentioned this.

Anyway, we have a floor meeting soon and I have to read a bunch more of Job before I turn in.

I'm pretty sure that I've already nearly done as much work as we do in one semester of high school. But I still love it.

And the Queen's classes have only just started.

Oh my ... goodness. I used to think that you were going to the real-live version of Blackstock College. Now I think that you must be going to an amalgam of Blackstock and Hogwarts. It could only be more perfect if you added in Drumens and a ship.

I don't know, Blackstock College always seemed to be much bigger than King's is. I can see my entire University from Ali's window. (My room faces onto the street, where the loud buses are).
