Just because. It's from boston.com (here's the link)and it might seem weird to you that I would type the whole thing out, but it's a good way to waste time and I really want to be able to see a list (if you go to the site you'll understand). If you're interested they have descriptions of the shows as they go through the list...

Anyway... I'll make comments as I go through to make it more interesting.

50. Earth Final Conflict (I liked this show as a random watching type thing. It was pretty good.)
49. The Wild Wild West
48. 3rd Rock From the Sun (It makes me so happy. Typical sitcom only BETTER.)
47. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
46. That Was Then (actually this sounds interesting, although I've never heard of it before.)
45. The Greatest American Hero
44. Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (Hmmm... I wonder why they didn't call Smallville the "New New Adventures of Superman"...)
43. Nowhere Man
42. Science Fiction Theatre
41. Futurama (Ah, the Simpsons in space... classic)
40. The Thunderbirds (ARE GO!!!! I love the Thunderbirds! They are filled with puppety goodness!)
39. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (say it!)
38. Batman (It is LOVE!!! Go Adam West. Gee Gollickers Batman! OMG I just made the connection between Clayton, who I sailed with this summer, and Robin. It's startlingly accurate *shocked expression*.)
37. Space 1999
36. The Bionic Woman
35. Battlestar Gallatica (Original)(I haven't actually seen any of this. But I like the new one, and the ads make me believe that it is wonderful seventies tackyness. Which makes me happy.)
34. The Avengers (I REALLY need to see some of this.)
33. Lost in Space (Danger Linear!!! (I mean Will Robinson!!!!!) so Classic it kills me. Really.)
32. My Favourite Martian
31. Alien Nation (Yes!!! I love this show so much. When Crichton references it in Farscape I was happy for WEEKS! By the way, where is Farscape on this list???? Must rant about that afterwards.)
30. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (It's Dark down there.)
29. The Six Million Dollar Man (We can rebuild him! Now where did I put that spare part?)
28. Adventures of Superman (he is the adventurer type, isn't he?)
27. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (It's Buffy, need I say more?)
26. Stargate Atlantis (with a picture of Teyla looking hot. which is really just her natural state of being so... Yes! Very happy that Atlantis Beat Buffy! You have no idea. ... Or maybe you do... get out of my head!)
25. The Jetsons (also classic)
24. Wonder Woman
23. Tales from the Crypt (I remember being really freak out by this as a child...)
22. Andromeda (Really need to watch more of this! Support Canadian Sci Fi!!!!)
21. Quantum Leap (LOVES!!!)
20. The Hitchhiker
19. Dark Angel (So sucked once he got out of the wheelchair. But so good before that. A cautionary tale of when good Sci Fi goes bad!)
18. V (I've seen ads for this on Space. It looked BAD.)
17. Firefly (jumps up and down for joy and wonder! Loves to bits and bits and bots and bits. Thank you Jody for lending me your DVDs before I bought my own!)
16. Flash Gordon (Stop thinking about silver underwear and the Rocky Horror Picture Show... NOW.)
15. Logan's Run (The Movie was TERRIBLE. And then my Dad bought it. WHy?)
14. Star Trek Voyager (This was actually one of my least favourite Star Treks. huh.)
13. The Outer Limits (Ummm... classic. And Rodney watching it in SGA! Yum.)
12. Xena: Warrior Princess (You just can't get much better than this, can you? So much awesome.)
11. Lost (Need, need, NEEEEEED to see this. meep.)
10. Sliders (Need to get this on DVD. So good. and Quinn is Hot. Totally didn't want to admit that when I was first watching it. That was a long time ago.)
9. Mystery Sciecne Theater 3000
8. Dr. Who
7. The Twilight Zone (cue moody music)
6. Stargate SG-1 (My BABY! If you don't know how much I love them then what are you doing on my livejournal? Have you BEEN paying attention? obviously not.)
5. Bablyon 5 (It is so happy making! Kosh is love. And so is everybody else. "It's like being nibbled to death by cats!")
4. The X-Files (Sigh. Wonders. Classic. Mulder and Scully UST...)
3. Star Trek the Next Generation (So the bes of all the Star Treks!!!!! Picard is awesome.)
2. Battlestar Gallactica (new) (Why did I get behind in it's crazy complicated and wonderful plot? WHY?)
1. Star Trek (Original) (Um... can you say let down?)

The only two shows that are missing are Farscape and the Dead Zone. Ummmm. Must get those shows. When I get a million dollars I will have SO many things on DVD. It will make me happy.

Hey M! Great list! I agree with most of them being ON the list, the order is a mystery to me. The original Star Trek opened so many doors that it wasn't just the stories and the characters as seen on TV but the whole change in the world of TV that they gave it number one. It's more of a starting symbol than a truly superb show but it was still really far ahead of its time. I'm currently in the middle of season 3 of B5 and I'm seeing some episodes I haven't seen before and also so many connections and links in the vast story. I love it. Cool list. Love, Mum

I do agree with that about Star Trek, but I don't think it deserves the number one spot. oh well.

yeah, but it's got a place in everyones heart for being THE sci fi show, everyone knows it, even people who don't know it know it. it's like the top 20 metal bands that jamie and i watched today, AC/DC was 4th, metalica was 3rd, alice cooper was like 15th, guess who was first? don't know? it was Black Sabbath. as good as some of their songs are, i didn't think that they deserved first, but then remembered that they fathered metal, so i was alright with it. so that's probably the reason why star trek TOS got first, when we all know that Firefly should have gotten it... or TNG... or possibly Stargate SG1 heh heh heh

Top 50

Sliders top ten? Are they serious?? And The Jetsons, Flash Gordon and Wonder Woman beat out Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

I demand a recount! :O)
