Mar. 29th, 2010 12:50 pmLast night I dyed my hair again. I used henna and the colour is supposed to be "Chestnut". I was aiming to get something a little darker, but still with some of the great redness that henna puts in my hair. I ended up with hair that is pretty much the same as when I started.
Feels great though.
It is a bit darker, and it's still noticeably lighter and redder at the ends. But it is a more even colour overall. I often find that henna has kinda weird reactions to my hair. Not bad weird, but unexpected weird. With the really red colours my hair tends to grab it and hold it for a very long time. (The ends of my hair are/were redder than my roots because I hennaed my hair about a year ago... or something like that.) Colours that are closer to my natural colour like mahogany and chestnut are barely noticeable and they leave fairly soon.
I'm torn because I would like to do something a bit darker (but not black, I've been there and while it wasn't terrible it wasn't that great either) but I don't really want to loose the undertones of red. Also I am totally not willing to spend loads of money to have a salon do this, because I actually like my natural hair colour. This is mostly just because I want something different.
In other news life continues apace.
I finished my application for Green College Residence at UBC. So here's hoping I get in. I haven't started looking at off-campus housing yet, so I don't really have an idea about how much rent is, or how hard it would be for me to find a place/roommates/etc. I've actually never done this looking-for-housing thing before because the White Hart fell in my lap (almost literally) after I got out of residence and then I lived there for the rest of my degree. So I'm crossing my fingers for getting a spot in residence and then I can figure out the house-hunting bits once I've lived in the city for a bit instead of before I know the area.
