Daylight Savings Time and Other Oddities
Nov. 6th, 2011 11:33 amSo gaining an extra hour doesn't actually effect when I get up at all. I'm still getting ready to start my Sunday at noon. I'm not upset about that. Sleep is one of my favourite things, and I'm certain that I never really get enough of it.
I'm stuck in procrastination limbo. I really need to get some work done, but I also really don't want to. I think I'm going to aim to have the powerpoint for my Madia Wreck presentation (and most of the talking notes) done by Friday. It's not for another two weeks, but I've got another long presentation right afterwards so I'm trying to avoid death at all costs.
In other news I want to get a watch. But watches are hard. I want a nice one - but I really can't afford more than about $100. I wish there were tags for searching for watches like there are for fic etc. Because then I could just chick on a bunch of the tags that apply to what I want and sort things into what I'm looking for.
- leather strap
- medium big face (I have big hands and wrists, small ladies watches make them look enormous)
- analog with the numbers on it (otherwise it will take me a minute every time I look at my watch to figure out what time it is)
Alas they don't seem to do that anywhere. I'd be tempted to put a watch on my Christmas list, since it's definitely a good present, but it's also one of those things where I have an idea of what I'd like in a watch, so it probably wouldn't coincide with what I'd get given. Even if I receive a very nice watch. It's just not fair to ask for something when you're thinking about specifics, but can't really articulate what those specifics are.
Anyway, I kinda want a watch. There's a watch store on 4th. Maybe I'll go out there and take a look. If I'm going to be procrastinating from doing things anyway I might as well do something productive (ish)?
