And I love how they deal with injuries, and with people leaving and joining the team. Like with Raf (whom I have just met) it's clear that they've met him and already know him fairly well from the training, even though it's the audience's first time meeting him.
There's a really good sense of time passing between each episode which is also awesome.
And I love how Jules is so much smaller than all of the guys and yet is still just as good as them (and sometimes better). I like that everyone has things that they're best at, but that everyone has to be at least a little good at everything.
Also - the fact that Spike used to build bombs as a child is in no way surprising to me. But still super cool character development. (I'm so glad that he's back to loving bombs again - he's healing!)
There are a few good fics on the AO3. Although there's only about a hundred, and most of them are under 1000 words. They're generally Sam/Jules, Greg/Ed and Spike/Lou, but there are a couple good gen team fics too. If you head to the AO3 and sort the Flashpoint fics by # of hits or word count, you'll find all of them.
