So life goes on, as it usually tends to do. I've been feeling a massive need for a vaction lately, mostly because of job stress due to evil co-workers, so I fiddled with my schedule so I could get three days off in a row. I doubt it'll be satisfactory, but it'll have to do. Only a month and a half left.
Also it turns out I have crazy teeth. (I'm sharing this partially to continue the "everyone on
jenavira's flist has teeth problems" thread *grin*.) I have about ten billion cavities, many of which are under pre-existing fillings, which leads me to believe that my previous Dentist deserves a great big thank you (note the sarcasm there) especially since the same thing happened to my brother when he went to a new dentist. This also means that I have to use a floride rinse, because apparently brushing my teeth everyday and not eating or drinking much of the sugary persuasion isn't enough. The rinse makes my tongue tingle.
Also I just downloaded the first episodes of SG-1 Season 10 and SGA Season 3.
I'm really worried that the Ori are just too powerful. I can't see any way that I'd believe for our guys to beat them. But on the upside: Vala's back!!!! And Daniel looked really good in the Ori-Stormtrooper armour. ("Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper?" um... nevermind, six feet is tall enough in my books...) And Vissier(sp?) did his snarky Asgard thang.
Atlantis was also good. McKay + Rambling = Love. And I love Ronan and his knives. REALLY. See also the title of this entry and "I'm not sure that's possible." "Make it possible" says Caldwell. You gotta love good leadership skills. And morally questionable is exciting, if kinda [insert word that I can't think of here]. The one thing I didn't like so much was the lack of overlap between the two shows. In SG-1 we can assume that our team doesn't have the latest info about Atlantis because they've been out of cantact with the SGC, but in SGA Weir is at the SGC and there's only one throw-away line about the Ori being a threat. I know they're trying to keep the shows apart, but that's pushing it just a bit.
Also what's with all the gatutious ship destruction? Did the Stargate guys get a (very) early copy of Dead Man's Chest and think it would be a great idea or something?
All in all I'm happy to have my Stargate fix again. :)
