Tanya Huff's Blood Books have been turned into a TV series. I already knew this was going to happen because she mentioned that to me and some other friends when I met her at at Violette Malan's Book Launch (Violette is one of my friend's aunts, she also taught

hobbitbabe a few writing classes, and is a friend of Tanya Huff, one of my favourite authors). This was last summer (and a high point of the otherwise crappy time that I had) and at the time contracts for the actors were not finalised, so she couldn't say who was playing the characters, but she was very excited and said that I would recognise the actors probably (this was after we had a long fannish conversation that made my friend R say that she was like an older version of me. *blink*). Well apparently the show is playing now. It's called Blood Ties and looking around on the internet I found that people were saying that it's good and also that Tanya Huff is very pleased with it (she said in an interview that she got to write an episode and that it was cool but kinda weird because it was like writing fanfiction for your own work).

And I do recognise the actors!!!! Vicki is being played by Christina Cox, who was the artist lesbian in Better Than Chocolate, and played two different roles on Stargate SG-1, and was in due South and more. Celluci is being played by Dylan Neal, who's name I didn't recognise but I did recognise his face. He was the Captain for the Babylon 5 attempted spin-off Legend of the Rangers. I've never heard of or seen the guy who plays Henry before, but he has a baby face and I'm withholding my judgement until I see if he can act like he's 450 years old.

Now I REALLY want to see this. Yet somehow I doubt they'll end up on the internet for easy access. *sigh*

ETA: Okay, I just found some video clips and the guy who plays Henry looks far less like a baby-face when he's not posing for a promo picture. I'm not really surprised, but it makes me feel better. Also the show is available on iTunes!!! This is so not fair!!!! Because I can't get to iTunes because I'm in Canada and I totally would!
