Did you know that the number of people who go to the University's counseling services increases by 150% (or some such large number) in the month of February?
I still haven't found my motivation for schoolwork yet. Which is kinda sucky because I do actually like my classes and my profs. Although I seriously suspect that being able to scrape by without terrible consequences hasn't helped.
Sometimes I wish that I could just Hibernate throughout the month of February. Just curl up in my room with tv on DVD/the internets, and interesting books with little to no thought requirement. Make full use of my amorphous blob comforter and the sweatpants with King's written on the Bum. Emerging only for food and hot showers and Hockey Night in Canada.
The Bears have totally got it right.
Although I totally wouldn't want to wake up to two hungry cubs and the Arctic Tundra.
The agenda for tonight: Screw "Two Years Before the Mast" and Hesiod, I'm going to watch more Six Feet Under.
I am such a bad student right now.

Three cheeers for the Bears
Date: 2008-02-05 02:30 am (UTC)From:I'm uninspired for school too but I am pushing myself to get some done. It's not fun. sigh. I'm glad I like most of my courses too and I'm keeping up - just.
Two hungry cubs aren't so bad when you want them and when they arrive one at a time.
my current music: Cindi Lauper Girls just wanna have fun

Date: 2008-02-06 02:08 am (UTC)From:I heard that J-Bear was off again. I got a phone message from him today, apparently he called yesterday, but I have no idea why I didn't get the call. Maybe someone else was on the phone at the time. Whatever, he said he'd call again when he gets back on land in two weeks. I'm looking forward to hearing from him.

(I was also appreciating Peter Krause, but hey.) I want to hear what you think about the characters. Who do you like, who bugs you, who do you think is complicated, etc.

Date: 2008-02-05 04:11 am (UTC)From:I do like the literary references in Six Feet Under (Brenda ranting at her mother in the background and comparing her the Medea was pretty great), but I like the random character stuff more (and yeah, Peter Krause is hawt. I think he's actually hawter in the scruffierness in 6FU than he was as the grammar/sports nerd in Sports Night, although it's quite hard to call...). David and Kieth are my favourite and I want them to stop it with this falling out (unintentional pun...) business and kiss and make up already! Claire is kinda teenage angst boring most of the time. And I tend to alternate between being bored and really pleased with Ruth. At first I thought that Brenda was kinda superfluous, but I really like the crazy stuff that's going on with her (and Billy) now. I also love the joyfulness of Frederico - he's so cool.
But yeah, David and Nate are definitely the most interesting and compelling of the characters I think. And I still think that David and Kieth in the Pilot when they're talking at Nathaniel's funeral and David nudges Kieth with his elbow, is the cutest thing evar. And David talking to the dead people is wicked awesome. Love the Neuroses.

Date: 2008-02-05 08:33 pm (UTC)From:And I did know that! I also really want to watch Dexter. K, from whom I borrowing Six Feet Under, also owns Dexter and she said that I could borrow it later after I'd seen a bunch more 6FU, because it's more fun that way.

Date: 2008-02-07 08:49 pm (UTC)From:When you get Dexter, you must call me immediately if not sooner because I LOVE that show more than is strictly reasonable. Interestingly gross fact: the actor who plays Dexter and the actor who plays his sister are doing it in real life, demonstrating that you really do need to be able to separate your job from your personal life!
