Weird Dreams
Jul. 23rd, 2006 09:01 amI had the most bizarre dream last night. I dreamed that Neil Gaiman was dying, and there was public mourning in the streets and the like. I'm pretty sure that it was some kind of terminal illness. I was walking through this mall-type place that had a lot of children's bookstores with weird names (one of them had "fish" in the title and its sign was bright blue and orange). I got the impression that he was dying in one of these bookstores but I've no idea which one or why.
It was totaly bizarre. And add on top of that that when I woke up I still thought that he was dying (I pretty sure that i didn't think he was dead yet). And it wasn't one of those super-sad-he's-dying! type moments, more like a resigned-known-this-for-a-while type thing. Thankfully then my sleep-addled brain started to kick into gear and I thought "If he was dying wouldn't he post it on his blog?"
Anyway, now I'm awake(ish) and glad to know that Neil Gaiman is NOT dead/dying (any more than the rest of us anyway). This'll teach me to listen to the audio recording of American Gods while I'm going to sleep.
