I have a massive headache. I think I'm going to take more painkillers, even though it's not been the requisite 4 hours yet.
I'm worried that it's because my hockey helmet is super out of date. It was manufactured in 1999 and helmets now come with a five-year expiry date. :S
Last night I had a hockey practice and I got hit in the head with the puck about 4 or 5 times, which is well above normal. I didn't feel bad at the time at all, or even last night. But in class this morning I was starting to get a headache and then our prof's slide projectors make the most high-pitched squealing noises and my head started really pounding.
I've been lusting after new gear all year. But I think I should maybe go and get a new helmet sooner rather than later, just in case my headache is puck-related. If I can find one that's close to $150 I'll just buy it. But if they've only got the $300 ones I may have to wait for my birthday.
I love being a goaltender, but I really wish that the equipment wasn't so expensive. Le sigh.

Ask your roomie to check on you if you've been asleep for a while.
Do not play again until your headache is completely gone.
Is it possible that your headache is partly due to a sort of neck muscle thing from the impacts like whiplash? If you have any treatments for stiff neck (heating pad, A535, hot shower, gentle stretching) they might help.

If my headache continues into tomorrow I think I'll stop by the University health clinic. Because heads are important. But I don't think it's really that much of a problem. I've had worse headaches with no hockey-influence. And I'm mostly just complaining for the sake of complaining.
