So I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but my Dad got me The Voco Clock for Christmas. I've mentioned this amazing alarm clock on here a while ago but for those of you who don't want to click on the link (it's a fun website though) the quick and dirty description is that this is an alarm clock that wakes you up with a different message every morning. It's Jeeves, and it's actually Stephen Fry's voice. I love it!

Anyway, this morning, after it had gone off and I'd managed to pull myself out of bed, it went off again, completely on it's own. So I got Jeeves telling me "It's time to get up, sir. I do sincerly hope that you are feeling better today than you were yesterday."

I love this clock.

I love this clock.

Good! It's nice to get something right, especially when I found it myself.

How simply spiffing!

A friend gave me a catalogue today of 'British entertainment'. DVDs of British films (one can't say 'movies') and television. They have a sale on Jeeves and Wooster!! - $45 for a season or $90 for the 4 seasons. And they have SO many good stories and collections. It's www.collectablesdirect.ca so it's in regular money and they deal with crossing the border. Oh it's a real find.

dead-ly! Sorry, that'd be a bit of oirish slang, but I'm just not up to ripping a bit 'o the ol' brit twit slang, what with not being in GB at the moment. But I am at the reject school for all the brit twits that don't get into oxford or cambridge, so I suppose I really ought to be able to rock it. I'm getting the impression that my Irish accent is becoming a mix of an Ulster/Belfast accent and the Trinity accent, which tends to be entirely affected, but the way I pick up accents, it isn't. Actually, my accent seems to be settling down into something between an absurdly thick Canadian maritime accent, a Belfast accent and the DU Trinners accent.

So, I thought I'd let you know that even though I'm not updating my livejournal, I had an adventure that you'd enjoy. I was walking to the luas (tram) a few hours ago when I overheard two lads chatting up a bunch of drunk girls who looked like general sluts because they were clubbing. Except instead of chatting them up, the lads were telling them how terrible they looked. Absolute class, it was.

That's awesome!

We were just discussing The Princess Bride the other day and ended up talking about your Wesley look from last year and how it was the most attractive look you managed. So of course now I'm picturing you with the Wesley-hair in your pirate suit as the Dread Pirate Roberts and with a bizarre accent. This is cause for crazy grinning!

I also overheard a bizarre conversation today while waiting for a friend (Liz F). Two guys were walking along and the one (with his mouth full) says to the other "Yeah, but who really wants sex anyway?" ... no... it was something like that, but more ammusing... oh well, I'm currently sick so my brain is of the dumb variety.

Dead-ly!
